Story #3 “Emotions”

He’s there on the first sunny day of spring, reflecting the brightness of the day in the radiating joy exuding from his body. He’s ready for the warming temperatures, thawing out his bones from a cold, unforgiving winter. Although the warmer temperatures are still not THAT warm, he’s got commitment in his attire. The shorts, the tank top, the flip flops, all topped off with a ball cap and sunglasses to tell a story – he is hopeful that summer is around the corner. He desires the sun everyday. His commitment to ring in this season is shown in his care and delicate touch with her. Every year she is there for him, to take him to new places, to see similar places from a different point of view, or to simply stop, pause, and breathe in all that she can give him. All that she gives him…every breathtaking sunrise, every eagle soaring overhead, every time a fish unexpectedly leaps from the water for the insects above. It’s the ongoing adventures that ignite his love again and again. As his soul is fed through every adventure, he deeply hopes that her soul is somehow experiencing the same level of satisfaction. He always wonders, “Does she also get joy out of it?” Even after a long day’s adventure, he may be tired, he may just desire rest, but he will spend hours with her ensuring she has all that she is in need of. He will spend hours, days, weeks, and years working with her to find the best path to their partnership. This early spring day, I witnessed a brief glimpse into the love that he has for her. He will dive deep into the details of her care and forever wonder if her soul is fed, too.
